Equipment for Learning

To support students in building strong foundations for learning, all students are expected to arrive at school each day with the correct equipment.

Required Equipment

All students should have:

• 2 black or blue pens

• Pencil

• Rubber

• Ruler

• 2 mini whiteboard pens – available from the school shop for 40p

• Planner

• Scientific calculator

Students should have all of the above equipment as soon as possible. From the first day back after October half term, all students will be expected to arrive at school each day fully equipped, including with their own scientific calculator.

Scientific Calculators

Having their own scientific calculator will help students become confident and familiar with using it regularly, particularly ahead of assessments and examinations.

The school-approved and recommended calculators are:

GCSE Calculator – £13
CASIO fx-85GT CW+ ClassWiz Plus Scientific Calculator

Higher Tier GCSE / A Level Calculator – £25
CASIO fx-991CW Advanced Scientific Calculator (UK Version)

For students studying Higher Tier GCSE Mathematics or intending to study Mathematics or Sciences beyond GCSE, the CASIO fx-991CW is the recommended option.

Parents and carers are encouraged to check their child's equipment before October half term and purchase or replace any missing items.
