At Carshalton Boys Sports College, we believe every student who walks through our doors deserves the chance to succeed, regardless of where they have come from, what they already know, or what challenges they face. As a non-selective school serving a genuinely diverse community — all-boys from Year 7, welcoming girls into a co-educational sixth form — inclusion is not a policy we apply; it is the foundation everything else is built on.
We hold high academic ambition for every student, believing knowledge is power and that a rigorous, broad curriculum is the surest route out of disadvantage, while shaping young people who see their own identity and background reflected and valued, and who understand that gender justice and equality are everyone's responsibility. Every student and member of staff should feel safe to be who they are, and every family, whatever its circumstances, is welcomed without condition. We measure success not by comparison to others but by the progress each individual makes, and above all we want kindness to run through every relationship in this school — between staff and students, between students themselves, and out into the wider community.
As a school proudly serving a high-deprivation community within a selective borough, we understand that inclusion has to be lived, not declared, in the support and ambition we hold for every child and the belonging they feel the moment they arrive. This is what we mean when we say Carshalton Boys Sports College is a school for every student.
