Visitors

Any visitors to the school must report to Reception and sign in using Sign in. This includes ex-staff and pupils. They are NOT DBS clear, therefore, they should not walk around the school unattended and wear a RED lanyard, or be left alone with students unless the necessary checks have been undertaken and entered onto the Single Central Record (see below).  It is, however, acceptable for them to be accompanied by a member of staff.

Vetting Checks for visitors

Under current Regulations we are required to hold written confirmation from any outside agencies or companies providing staff to our school that all the necessary employment and safeguarding checks have been carried out before they visit or commence at the school. These checks are:

  • Full name and date of birth

  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate (with no break of service of more than 3 months).  The original must be provided or the employer must email/write confirming the certificate number and date of issue

  • Original of Photo ID (Driving Licence or Passport)

  • Certificate of Compliance from agency or a letter/email from their employer verifying DBS number and date of issue and all employment checks (references, qualifications, right to work in UK etc.) have been carried out

If any of the above are not available or the checks have not been undertaken, then CBSC is responsible for any actions that person carries out whilst on school premises.  If in doubt or require further clarification, please see Jo Long or Paul Avery for further information.  All visitors must sign out when they leave.  Please see the CBSC Visitors policy for further information.
