Every student in our sixth form has the right to careers guidance that is impartial, confidential and entirely free from institutional bias. We do not start with an answer in mind. University, apprenticeships, employment and further study are presented as equally valid, equally serious ambitions — and our guidance is structured to help each young person reach the decision that is genuinely right for them.

Our guidance provider

Our impartial careers guidance is delivered through Prospects, part of the Shaw Trust — one of the UK's leading providers of independent careers information, advice and guidance. Prospects operate entirely independently of the school, ensuring every recommendation made to a student is free of any institutional agenda.

Our named adviser for the 2026-27 academic year will be confirmed in September 2026. Full details, including qualifications and how to book an appointment, will be published here as soon as they are available.

What students receive

• A confidential, one-to-one guidance interview with a Level 6 qualified careers adviser.

• Guidance that gives equal weight to university, degree and higher apprenticeships, skilled employment, the armed services and further study.

• Priority access for students with SEND and disadvantaged students, ensuring guidance reaches those who need it most.

• Follow-up support to help translate guidance into a concrete, well-informed next step.

How guidance is accessed

All Year 12 and Year 13 students are offered at least one formal guidance interview during their time in sixth form, with additional sessions available on request through the Sixth Form office or a student's tutor. Parents and carers are welcome to request information about the guidance process at any time.

Our Provider Access Policy

In line with the Gatsby Benchmarks and our statutory duties, our Provider Access Policy sets out how education and training providers can access students to inform them about approved technical education qualifications and apprenticeships. A copy of the policy is available on request.
