Course Overview

A Level Psychology explores why people think, feel and behave the way they do. Students investigate human behaviour using scientific research, developing critical thinking, analytical and evaluation skills that are highly valued by universities and employers.

Students learn through engaging lessons, research activities, practical investigations, discussion, independent study and regular examination practice.

Assessment

The course is assessed through three written examinations at the end of Year 13. There is no coursework.

• Paper 1: Introductory Topics in Psychology (2 hours)
• Paper 2: Psychology in Context (2 hours)
• Paper 3: Issues and Options in Psychology (2 hours)

Each paper is worth one-third of the overall A Level.
