On Monday 11 November, forty Year 12 Mathematicians set off for the Maths in Action enrichment trip in London. Throughout the day, students enjoyed a series of dynamic lectures from leading mathematicians and researchers, exploring everything from elegant problem-solving techniques to the surprising places mathematics appears in the real world. The talks were so engaging that several students found themselves starstruck, joining impressively long queues just to grab a photo or secure an autograph from their favourite speaker. Some even debated who had the “best” mathematician selfie on the train home. It was a thoroughly enriching day that brought maths to life and left our students buzzing with inspiration.
