Admissions policy

CBSC 6th Form aims to ensure equality of opportunity by providing a wide range of programmes that facilitate access and progression. Our admissions system guides students onto appropriate programmes of study from which they are likely to benefit and which will enable them to fulfil their potential — through individualised guidance at every stage, regardless of background or starting point. Students with additional or SEND needs are welcomed and supported throughout the application process; please contact us early so we can ensure the right arrangements are in place from the outset.
Our 6th Form leads to a genuine range of futures — university, apprenticeships, and employment — and our advice throughout the admissions process reflects that breadth of ambition, not a single route.

How to apply

Follow our eight simple steps to apply for your place at CBSC 6th Form.

1) Identify the subjects you are interested in
Check out our courses page (click here) to find out about the subjects we offer that might interest you.

2) Attend an open day

To discover more about your chosen courses and life in our 6th Form. The Open Event for admissions September 2027 will take  place on Wednesday 14th October 2026.

External applicant afternoon tours are also offered — a great opportunity to see us in action and experience a working afternoon at Carshalton Boys Sports College.
Tour dates are as follows, please note following our Open Evening on the 14th October 2026 there will be a live booking form which you will need to complete. :

• Tuesday 3rd  November 2026 – 2pm (Link to register coming soon)
• Thursday 5th  November 2026 – 2pm (Link to register coming soon)
• Tuesday 10th November 2026 – 2pm (Link to register coming soon)

3) Apply

Applications for this cohort closed on Friday 11th December 2026. The 6th form team contacted all applicants following receipt of their form.

4) Reference Request

After we receive your application, we will contact your school for a reference.

5) Receive your offer
We will let you know as soon as possible what the status of your application is. All offers at CBSC are subject to achieving the relevant entry requirements.

6) Welcome events
If you receive an offer, you will be invited to attend welcome and transition events where you will get a real insight into life and your course at CBSC 6th Form.

7) Enrolment

6th Form Enrolment will take place on Thursday 24th August 2027.

• Internal Students: Should collect their results in person and should ensure they are available to undertake an enrolment interview with a member of the 6th Form team. We are committed to ensuring that all students have the appropriate foundation to thrive on their A Level / L3 programme.
• External students: Should, in the first instance, submit their grades via email, as per the enrolment communication. A member of the team will screen results and course choices and contact applicants via email in the first instance. 

8) Enrolment and start of term
Following enrolment, you will be sent a starter pack outlining start of term arrangements.
